News You Can Peruse is a weekly informal newsletter covering Council, Committee, and Commission meetings in the city of Batavia.
This newsletter is published by Strong Towns Batavia, a grassroots organization dedicated to promoting and advocating for urban planning reform, walkable traditional city development, and long-term fiscal responsibility and sustainability, and is a volunteer chapter of the national Strong Towns organization.
The newsletter is primarily written by Dustin Pieper, an alderman for the city of Batavia, as well as occasionally other members of Strong Towns Batavia. While the authors do all that they can to maintain impartiality in its reporting, we also recommend checking other news sources as well, including summaries written by other Council members, local news organizations, and recordings and minutes of the meetings being covered.
This newsletter is intended to act as a local information resource for citizens of Batavia and surrounding communities that strives for a neutral tone. Any statements made in the newsletter are intended to reflect the events as they transpired, and are not to be seen as endorsements or reflect the opinions of Strong Towns Batavia or any of its constituent members or writers.
As a final note, this newsletter is 100% AI free! I’m afraid I just sound like this naturally.
